⚠ Common 890 R gotchas
Shock eye bushing is LEFT-HAND thread! M20 LH×1.5 · 10 Nm · greased. Easy to wreck if forced clockwise.
Slipper clutch lever cable Check / lube every service — gets sticky in mud.
Subframe bolts loosen KTM #1 known issue — M10 · 50 Nm + Loctite 243 at major service.
Steering head adjustment Notchy if neglected — adjust within first 1,000 km.
Oil sight glass position Bike must be UPRIGHT and warm to read correctly.
Front brake feel Bleed often, especially after dirt rides; air gets in.
Chain pitch mistakes The 890 R is 520 (not 525). Aftermarket sprocket buyers — check.
