| Shock eye bushing is LEFT-HAND thread! | M20 LH×1.5 · 10 Nm · greased. Easy to wreck if forced clockwise. |
| Slipper clutch lever cable | Check / lube every service — gets sticky in mud. |
| Subframe bolts loosen | KTM #1 known issue — M10 · 50 Nm + Loctite 243 at major service. |
| Steering head adjustment | Notchy if neglected — adjust within first 1,000 km. |
| Oil sight glass position | Bike must be UPRIGHT and warm to read correctly. |
| Front brake feel | Bleed often, especially after dirt rides; air gets in. |
| Chain pitch mistakes | The 890 R is 520 (not 525). Aftermarket sprocket buyers — check. |
